Kenner Recommended Evacuation Plan 

The Kenner Police Department makes the following recommendations in conjunction with the Louisiana Evacuation Plan. To learn more about the Louisiana Evacuation Plan, visit the Louisiana State Police Hurricane Information page at http://www.lsp.org/hurricane.html.

Phase I Evacuation: 50 hours before the onset of Tropical Storm winds.

• Although there are no route restrictions, it is recommended that the elderly, those with special needs and those with limited transportation begin their evacuation.

Phase II Evacuation: 40 hours before the onset of Tropical Storm winds.

• Although there are no route restrictions, it is recommended that citizens residing in flood prone areas, FEMA trailers and all those included in Phase I begin their evacuation.

Phase III Evacuation: 30 hours before the onset of Tropical Storm winds.

• Contraflow is in effect. Choose your route wisely. Once you enter
  Contraflow you may be unable to change routes. IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO EVACUATE UNDER CONTRAFLOW RESTRICTIONS, YOUR BEST STRATEGY IS TO LEAVE EARLY BEFORE CONTRAFLOW IS ACTIVATED.
