Kenner man arrested for domestic shooting

Kenner - On Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at 6:22 p.m., members of the Kenner Police Department responded to the Pelican Bay Garden Apartments, located at 2154 42nd Street, Kenner, in reference to a shooting incident.  Upon officers’ arrival they discovered a 55-year-old male victim, with a gunshot wound to the left arm, and 46-year-old, Alex Moore with a gunshot wound to the right hand.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and Moore were involved in a 20 plus year romantic relationship and resided together.   Witnesses advised prior to the shooting incident, Moore became irate with the male victim because he had not prepared food for guests.  Moore threw a glass of water on the victim, at which time a physical altercation ensued in the bedroom of the apartment and Moore retrieved a gun.  As the two continued to physically fight, the gun discharged striking both.

Both the victim and Moore were transported to University Hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released.  Moore was arrested and charged with the crimes of aggravated battery and aggravated assault on a dating partner.   At the time of this press release, Moore remains in custody, no bond has been set.
