Metairie teen arrested in Kenner robbery

 Kenner - On Tuesday, October 17, 2017, the Kenner Police Department arrested and charged Tamond Callao, 19, of 6201 Riverside Drive, in Metairie with the crime of simple robbery. 

 At approximately 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, Tamond Callao approached a 78-year-old male victim, in the 3100 block of Maine Street, in Kenner.   Callao approached the victim who was in his open garage asking for money.  After a disagreement, Callao reached into the rear pocket of the victim and snatched his wallet from his immediate possession and fled. 

 KPD assisted by JPSO located Callao at Olympic & Leslie Street, in Metairie where he was arrested.  Callao was interviewed by KPD Detective Nick Engler and admitted to snatching the victimís wallet from him.  KPD was able to recover the stolen wallet and money contained within.     

 At the time of this press release, Callao remains in custody, no bond has been set.
