Update: Two additional arrests in Kenner murder

Kenner - Two additional arrests were made this morning (Tuesday, November 07, 2017), concerning Saturday’s murder of Jontrell Wells, 18 of Kenner, who was shot outside a 16-year-old’s party.

 Arrested are:

A 14-year-old male juvenile, of Metairie, who was charged with the crime of second degree murder, and

Phaedra Robinson, 41, of 2744 Kingston Street, in Kenner.  Robinson is the mother of Renee Holloway, 17, who was arrested Sunday concerning this murder.  Robinson was charged with the crime of accessory after the fact to second degree murder.  Robinson was arrested after Holloway admitted he shot a gun at a rival group outside the party on Saturday, returned home, and gave his mother the gun he used, which she hid in a laundry basket inside her bedroom.  Robinson told detectives Sunday “that without a gun you can’t charge him, (meaning her son).”   Gun magazines and bullets were found hidden inside a laundry basket inside Robinson’s bedroom, the actual gun has not been recovered.  One of the magazines contained the same type of ammunition which was recovered from the crime scene.

At the time of this press release:

The fourteen-year-old juvenile was transported to the Rivarde Juvenile Detention Center, to await a continued custody hearing.

Phaedra Robinson remains in custody no bond has been set.  Robinson was additionally charged with two (2) JPSO attachments for theft of goods and three (3) separate traffic attachments.

Renee Holloway remains in custody, in lieu of a $500,000 bond.  This murder investigation continues.
