Kenner Police investigating severe crash on Airport Access Road

KENNER- On Sunday, November 5, 2017, at 5:25 a.m., the Kenner Police Department received a call from an individual who reported that a person was laying on the side of the road in the 1700 block of Airport Access Road (Northbound), in Kenner.

Kenner Police Officers responding to investigate the complaint, located a 33-year-old male, lying on the side of the road with severe injuries.  Investigation revealed at an unknown time, the individual was traveling southbound on Airport Access Road while operating a motorcycle and lost control, at which time the male was thrown from the motorcycle which crashed thru a fence.  Due to fog in the area, it is unknown how long this person laid on the side of the road before this call was received.  Speed is believed to be a factor in this crash.  It is unknown if this person was impaired.  The injured male was transported to University Hospital where he remains unstable and in severe condition.  The injured male is not being identified at this time until family can be notified.

Kenner Police Chief Michael J. Glaser urges anyone with information concerning this crash or may have seen this person lying on the side of the roadway to call Kenner Police Traffic Investigator Patrick Gallagher at (504) 712-2257.
