Kenner teen arrested after forcing entry into an occupied residence while armed with a handgun

Kenner - On Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at 11:35 a.m., the Kenner Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from a male caller who reported that someone broke into the rear of his residence in the 3400 block of Continental Drive, Kenner.  As officers responded, the caller advised he could hear the subject still inside his residence.

Upon KPD officers’ arrival, they immediately surrounded the property, and observed 17-year-old, Kemmion Cage, who provided the home address of 2708 Albany Street, Kenner, exit the rear of the residence, through a smashed sliding glass door.  Cage jumped a neighboring fence and threw an object after he observed responding officers.  Cage was taken into custody, and the object thrown was found to be a loaded .40 caliber handgun.  The handgun recovered was not listed as stolen.

Cage was arrested and charged with the crimes of aggravated burglary and  illegal carrying of weapons during a crime of violence.  At the time of this press release, Cage remains in custody and no bond has been set.

Kenner Police Chief Michael J. Glaser encourages anyone with information concerning this burglary or Kemmion Cage, to call Kenner Police Officer Emile Sanchez at (504) 712-2200.
