Kenner Police investigating shooting / murder  

 Kennner - At approximately 10:45 p.m., on Saturday, November 4, 2017, an off-duty Kenner Police Officer was working a Sweet 16 party, which was being held in the Council of Aging building, located in the 600 block of Compromise Street, in Kenner.   During the party, the off-duty officer was alerted to a possible disturbance at 6th Street & Compromise Street.  As the officer investigated the complaint, gunshots rang out and one person was found shot at 6th and Compromise Street. 

 CPR was administered to the person shot, identified as Jontrell Wells, 18, of Kenner.  Wells was transported to University Hospital where his death was pronounced.
