Convicted felon arrested with multiple firearms

Kenner - On Wednesday, September 7, 2016, the Kenner Police Department arrested and charged Clarence Gould, 26, who provided a home address in Houston, Texas, with the crimes of possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies (3 counts), and illegal possession of a stolen firearm.   The arrest is a result of information developed during a shooting that occurred Friday at the apartment complex located at 1013 31st Street, in Kenner.

Kenner Police was able to obtain a license plate number to a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe which was seen suspiciously circling the apartment complex after a shooting Friday.  Information developed concerning the Tahoe registered to Clarence Gould suggested individuals inside the vehicle were seen exiting the Tahoe carrying long guns.

The Tahoe was located Tuesday morning outside the Brotherís Food Mart in Kenner.    Kenner Police Officers observed Clarence Gould operating and exit the vehicle.  Gould was known to be a convicted felon, having been convicted of the crime of possession of crack cocaine and that he had multiple warrants / attachments outstanding for his arrest.   Officers detained and arrested Gould for the existing warrants and attachments.  During the arrest, officers observed a handgun in plain view on the driver seat of the Tahoe.

A search warrant was obtained for the Tahoe, which led to the discovery of 1 additional handgun and an assault rifle (AK) which was found hidden in the vehicle.     Although Gould was seen driving the Tahoe, that it was registered to him, and that a gun was on the driver seat of the Tahoe in plain view, Gould stated he was unaware the firearms were inside the vehicle.  One of the handguns recovered was found to be stolen from Harrison County, Texas.

At the time of this press release, Clarence Gould remains in custody, his bond was set at $185,000.00.
