2nd suspect arrested concerning January purse snatching /carjacking outside the Esplanade Mall

  KENNER- On Sunday, February 21, 2016, the Kenner Police Department arrested Jada Davis, 18, of 3966 Louisiana Avenue Parkway in New Orleans, on an outstanding warrant which charged her with the crimes of principal to carjacking, principal to purse snatching, criminal conspiracy, and illegal possession of stolen things.

 Davis was arrested after it was learned that she conspired and planned to participate in the January 26, 2016, purse snatching /carjacking which occurred outside the Esplanade Mall in Kenner. After planning the purse snatching / carjacking, Davis drove Donte Moore, to the Esplanade Mall in a stolen 2013 Volkswagen SUV. Moore exited the stolen vehicle driven by Davis, approached the 68-year old victim, and snatched her purse and carjacked the victim.

 The stolen Volkswagen utilized by Davis and Moore had been taken earlier the same day in New Orleans, during a reported carjacking (NOPD item number A-80594-16). The New Orleans carjacking was reported to have occurred at Cadiz & Willow Street, in New Orleans.

 Davis was interviewed by Kenner Police Detective Peter Foltz and admitted her involvement in the Kenner purse snatching / carjacking. It should also be noted that the stolen Volkswagen driven by Davis was recovered by Louisiana State Police (item number 16A3HQ233) on January 29, 2016 abandoned in the 3900 block of Delachaise Street, in New Orleans, which is one block from Davisís residence.

 At the time of this press release, Davis remains in custody, no bond has been set. The original press release concerning the Kenner purse snatching / carjacking is below.
