Kenner sex offender arrested for felony theft from employer

Kenner-On Wednesday, September 30, 2015, the Kenner Police Department arrested Timothy Mayeux, 33, who provided the home address of 2 Rhine Drive, in Kenner.   Mayeux was charged with the crime of theft valued at $46,200.00.

Timothy Mayeux was hired July 3, 2014 as the manager of the Super D Food / Chevron, located at 901 West Esplanade Avenue, in Kenner.   In September 2015, a complaint was filed with the Kenner Police Department after an audit which showed Mayeux made 126 unauthorized “high dollar returns” totaling $45,700 dollars, and stole $500.00 in lottery tickets, resulting in a loss of $46,200.00, from the business.    These incidents occurred between November 1, 2014 and September 1, 2015.

As a result of the investigation, detectives obtained casino records which showed Mayeux made 95 visits to casinos during the period of the high dollar returns.  Detectives obtained casino records and video after it was learned Mayeux had cashed in some of the stolen lottery tickets at casinos which also sold lottery tickets.

Mayeux was interviewed by Kenner Police Detective Bryan Weiter.  Having been confronted with the fraudulent returns, casino records, and other evidence, Mayeux refused to take responsibility for his actions, advising he was a registered sex offender and no one liked him.

Mayeaux is a Tier 1 Sex Offender, having pled guilty to the crime of indecent behavior with a juvenile.  Mayeux is required to register as a sex offender for a period of 15 years, with annual updates which was current at the time of his arrest.     At the time of this press release, Mayeux remains in custody, no bond has been set.

Kenner Police Chief Michael J. Glaser encourages anyone who can provide information concerning Timothy Mayeux, to contact Kenner Police Detective Bryan Weiter at (504) 712-2333 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
