Domestic arrest

Kenner - At approximately 08:52 a.m.; Monday, January 05, 2015, the Kenner Police Department was dispatched to the home of Junior Galette, 26, located in the 4400 block of Rue De La Harbor, Kenner, in reference to a disturbance.  Upon arrival; officers met with a 22-year-old female who was observed bleeding from her left ear, having an ear ring ripped from her ear, and scratch marks to her face.  The victim, who claimed to live with Galette, advised she has resided with Galette for two years, and completes household chores such as cooking and cleaning.

Last night (January 4th) Galette asked her to leave the residence and they mutually agreed she would leave today.  This morning the female victim woke Galette asking for money for cab fare.  Galette then told his cousin, identified as Terrance Banks, 26, of Newark, New Jersey to take care of the request, at which time all parties became involved in an argument.  The female victim stated that Junior Galette pushed her two (2) times trying to get her to leave the residence.  After falling she advised that both were on her, meaning Banks and Galette to the point she experienced difficulty breathing.  The victim attempted to call for help at which time Banks took the victimís cell phone from her.  The victim advised both were physical with her to the point she couldnít breathe.   Because two males were physically fighting the victim, she armed herself with a knife for self-defense if needed.   After the victim was physically removed from the residence by Banks, she was able to contact the Kenner Police Department to request help.

Junior Galette was arrested and charged with the crime of simple battery involving domestic violence; his bond was preset at $600.00.  Terrance Banks was also arrested and charged with the crime of simple battery, his bond was preset at $300.00.

At the time of this press release both remain in custody.
