Kenner man out on bond relative to five separate theft complaints arrested again

Kenner - A Kenner man arrested in December 2013 relative to five separate theft complaints has been arrested again for three additional thefts.

On Saturday, January 11, 2013, Kenner Police Patrol Officers were flagged down by a Target Asset Protection (AP) Manager, outside the Esplanade Mall, located at 1401 West Esplanade Avenue, in Kenner.  It was there officers learned that store AP had observed Jeffrey Rudolph, 43, of 1201 West Esplanade Avenue, Kenner, selecting a Coffee Maker and Ninja blender from the store shelves and placing them into a grocery cart.  Rudolph was known to store personnel due to previous thefts from the location.  While on scene, Rudolph exited the store with the merchandise and was subsequently stopped and arrested by KPD Officers and AP.  Rudolph made no attempt to pay for the items and passed all points of sales upon exiting the store with the intent on committing a theft.

Rudolph at the time of his arrest was out on bond relative to five separate thefts for which he was arrested in December.  Those thefts had occurred between November & December 2013, at the JcPenney’s (Metairie), Bed Bath & Beyond (Metairie), Target (Westbank / Manhattan Boulevard) and Macy’s (in Kenner).  At the time of Rudolph’s arrest in December he admitted to the thefts advising he was committing the thefts because he was addicted to drugs.

Rudolph was charged with the crime of theft of goods relative to the Saturday’s arrest, in addition, to two other thefts that occurred from the same Kenner Target in December in which he stole a vacuum cleaner and coffee maker.

At the time of this press release, Rudolph remains in custody no bond has been set.

Chief Steve Caraway encourages anyone with information concerning this incident, to call the Kenner Police Department at (504) 712-2222 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
