Kenner Police arrests suspect who committed Lamarque Ford burglary

Kenner-The person responsible for the burglary at Lamarque Ford, had been identified as Jackie Williams, 49, who provided a home address of 3815 Delaware Avenue, in Kenner.  Williams was interviewed by detectives and has confessed to committing numerous burglaries and thefts at dealerships throughout the metropolitan area, both East bank and West bank.  In Kenner, not only is Williams being charged with the Lamarque Ford incident, he is also being charged with two similar burglaries that occurred on May 26, 2012 & October 7, 2012 at Best Chevrolet, located at 2600 Veterans Boulevard, in Kenner, for which he confessed.

Kenner Police learned that Williams is employed and works on the construction site of the new hospital being built in New Orleans.  It was also learned that JPSO had identified Williams concerning a similar burglary on the West bank; in addition the St. John Parish the Baptist Sheriff’s Office had arrested Williams previously for similar type burglaries.    Yesterday (Monday, May 20, 2013), members of the Kenner Police Department, JPSO, and members of the U.S. Marshal’s Gulf Coast Regional Task Force working together, located Williams on the jobsite in New Orleans, where he was taken into custody for outstanding warrants.  Williams was booked in Orleans Parish Prison as a fugitive and later transferred to the custody of JPSO this morning (May 21, 2013).

In speaking with Williams he advised he has been experiencing financial hardships, which is his reasons for the burglaries, in addition, he admitted that he has been selling the stolen rims and tires to co-workers, etc., thus the Kenner Police Department is requesting that if anyone has purchased rims and tires from Williams to contact Kenner Police Detective Jesse Johnson at (504) 712-2238.

Williams has been charged by the Kenner Police Department with the crimes of simple burglary (3-counts), unauthorized entry of a place of business (3-counts), and theft (3-counts).

Williams is presently on probation at this time until 1/12/2014.  At the time of this press release, Williams’ remains in custody, no bond has been set.
