Arrests made in Chateau residential burglaries  

Kenner-The Kenner Police Department has arrested two in reference two (2) residential burglaries and two (2) attempted residential burglaries that occurred on Chateau Trianon & Chateau Pontet-Canet, in Kenner.  On Wednesday, June 4, 2013, Kenner Police Detectives received a telephone call from a victim reporting that his stolen IPOD TOUCH, which had been taken in a residential burglary on Chateau Pontet-Canet, had been activated and coordinates placed the stolen IPOD in the 4200 block of Connecticut Avenue, in Kenner.  Detectives conducted a canvass of the area, and later located Telvis Maryland, 18, who provided an address of 39 Chateau Trianon, Kenner, (the same neighborhood as the residential burglaries) & Shelby Picou, 17, of 4220 Connecticut Avenue, in possession of the stolen IPOD TOUCH.  A search of the residence on Connecticut Avenue, yielded additional property valued at over $20,000.00, taken in the other reported residential burglaries, in addition, to 4.1 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.  

 Maryland was later identified by a witness as the person who had been committing the residential burglaries by attempting and / or forcing entry into homes, taking IPODís, cellular telephones, and jewelry, which he stored the stolen property at Picouís residence located on Connecticut Avenue. 

 At the time of this press release, Telvis Maryland has been charged with the crime of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling (2-counts), attempt simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling (2-counts), possession of stolen property (2-counts), illegal possession of marijuana, and prohibited acts (drug paraphernalia). 

 Picou was charged with possession of stolen property (2-counts), illegal possession of marijuana, and prohibited acts (drug paraphernalia).  Telvis Maryland remains in custody; his bond was set at $66,500.00.  Picou has been released from the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center on at $11,500.00 bond.   The burglaries were reported between May 9th and June 3rd.
