 Second man identified and arrested in Kenner armed robbery

Kenner-A second man responsible for the January 6, 2013, armed robbery at the Shop N Go, located at 4345 Williams Boulevard, Kenner has been identified and arrested. 

On Wednesday, January 9, 2013, members of the U.S. Marshalís Gulf Coast Regional Task Force assisting the Kenner Police Department located Roderick Lathers, 19, at his residence located at 1704 Roosevelt Boulevard, in Kenner.  Latherís had been identified as the gunman who had entered the store wearing a black bandanna along with a blue hooded jacket.  Lathers was armed with a handgun, demanded money from cash register, and then fled to an awaiting black SUV, which was later stopped in the 2600 block of Georgia Avenue.  Lathers fled the vehicle, as the driver Jonathan Butler, 23, of 2164 Carmel Valley Drive, in LaPlace, was arrested and taken into custody. 

Latherís was interviewed by Detective Shaun Watson and confessed to his role in the armed robbery.  Lathers was charged with the crime of Armed Robbery.  At the time of this press release, Lathers remains in custody, no bond has been set.
