Arkansas sex offender arrested for failing to register as a sex offender

Kenner - An Arkansas sex offender was arrested Sunday (May 15, 2011), during a traffic stop, in Kenner.  Brian Lee, 41, who provided a home address of 152 West Airline Drive, trailer 13, Kenner, was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a red light violation at Airline Drive and Airport Access Road (Kenner).  During the traffic stop, it was discovered Lee, a convicted sex offender having been convicted of 2-counts of second degree molestation of juveniles (conviction September 2006), was wanted from Arkansas for failing to register as a sex offender.  During the investigation and arrest of Lee, it was learned Lee has been living at the West Airline Drive address in Kenner for about 5 months.  Lee failed to transfer his sex offender registry once moving to Louisiana, failed to register with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Kenner Police Department, and failed to notify residents of his sex offender status.  Lee was additionally charged with Louisiana Revised Statutes (L.R.S.) 15:542 concerning registration of sex offenders. 

At the time of this press release; Lee remains in custody of the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center, no bond has been set.
