Parolee / Habitual Offender arrested for multiple counts of burglary

Kenner - A Metairie man on parole for the crime of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling and possession of cocaine until 7/12/2012 was arrested this morning by members of the Kenner Police Department and State Probation and Parole East Jefferson District.  Calvin Deshane Thompson, 43, who resides at 927 S. Cumberland Street, apartment 1, Metairie, was arrested at his residence and will be charged with simple burglary 3 counts and parole violations. 

Through an investigation, Thompson was identified as the person who burglarized a storage warehouse on three separate occasions in the 2300 block of 3rd Street (Rev. Richard Wilson Drive), in Kenner.  The burglaries occurred between January 7, 2011 and January 23, 2011.  On each occasion, Thompson forced entry into the storage warehouse and stole various items.  Thompson was identified from surveillance cameras in the area; in addition he sold some of the stolen property to a scrap yard in St. Rose. 

At the time of Thompsonís arrest, other property stolen during the burglary was recovered from his vehicle and apartment.  At the time of this press release Thompson remains in the custody of the Kenner Police Department and will be transported to the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center.
