Everyone is invited to attend the twelfth Annual National
Night Out Against Crime Kick-Off Party taking place this
Sunday, October 9, from 3 – 7 p.m. at Laketown in Kenner.
As always, there will be exciting
entertainment including children’s activities, a red beans
and rice cook-off, various displays and demonstrations by
law enforcement and fire department professionals, live
music by Karma and great food - ALL FREE!
Representatives in every area
of law enforcement will be there to talk with you.
This is an excellent
opportunity for people considering a career in law
enforcement to have their questions answered by experts in
each field and to find out what their jobs are all about.
It’s also a great time for
citizens and officials to interact and to discuss important
issues in our community.
The Kick-Off Party is a prelude to the
28th Annual National Night Out Against Crime, which Kenner
will observe along with other local law enforcement agencies
on the following Tuesday, October 11.
Citizens can help us celebrate this event in a
variety of ways, such as having a block party, a cookout,
flashlight walks, or by sitting on their front porch with
their lights on – a symbol that has become a tradition over
