Harahan teen killed in crash on I-10 in Kenner

KENNER - The Kenner Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Friday night in Kenner.  At approximately 10:05 p.m., Friday, November 4, 2011, the Kenner Police Department responded to a single vehicle crash in the 1700 block of the I-10 (westbound).  A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver, Calli Lynn Vicknair, 19, of Harahan, was driving a red 2006 Suzuki Reno, 4 door, westbound on the I-10, when for unknown reasons she lost control, skidded sideways, and crashed into a tree.  Severe impact was noted to the driver side and roof of the vehicle.  Vicknair who was wearing a seat belt had to be extracted from the vehicle and her death was pronounced on scene.

An autopsy performed this morning (Saturday, November 5, 2011) at the Jefferson Parish Forensic Center, revealed Vicknair died due to injuries she sustained in the vehicle crash.  The crash remains under investigation and toxicology results are pending.

Chief Steve Caraway urges anyone who witnessed this traffic fatality crash to call Traffic Investigator Gerald Miller, who is in charge of the investigation at (504) 712-2424.
