One person arrested in double shooting on Janice Avenue in Kenner


Kenner - The Kenner Police Department has arrested and charged Frederick Ross, 24, of Kenner, in reference to the double shooting that occurred on Janice Avenue, this morning (Sunday, October 16, 2011). Frederick Ross has been charged with the crimes of first degree murder, attempt first degree murder, aggravated burglary, illegal use of weapons, and illegal possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain felonies. 

Frederick Ross is charged with the murder of Matthew Dupuy, 23, of Kenner, and the attempted murder of a 22 victim which occurred in the 5500 block of Janice Avenue.  Matthew Dupuy’s death was pronounced on scene, the second victim was transported to a local hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.  Within minutes of the shooting Frederick Ross who was identified as the shooting suspect was found by nearby by members of the Kenner Police Department. 

Frederick Ross has felony convictions; having been convicted of the crimes of simple burglary and possession of cocaine.  At the time of this press release; Frederick Ross remains in custody; no bond has been set.
