Second person arrested in double shooting on Janice Avenue


KENNER - The Kenner Police Department has arrested and charged a second person in relation to the October 16, 2011, double shooting which occurred in the 5500 block of Janice Avenue, Kenner.  On Tuesday, November 1, 2011, Antoinette Kelly, 29, of 2111 St. Anthony Street, New Orleans, was located and taken into custody by members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force at her home in New Orleans.  Kelly was charged by Kenner Police with the crimes of first degree murder concerning the shooting death of Matthew Dupuy 23, of Kenner, and the attempted first degree murder of a 22 year old victim who remains hospitalized due to complications from her gunshot wounds.  

Antoinette Kelly is the girlfriend of Frederick Ross, 24, who was arrested shortly after the shooting occurred.  Through the investigation it was learned that Kelly drove Ross to the home on Janice Avenue and upon entering the residence locked the door and remained at the door as a guard until the shooting began.  Kelly did not attempt to prevent the shooting nor did she attempt to assist the victims.   At the time of this press release; Kelly remains in custody; no bond has been set.
