Parolee arrested and charged with Obscenity

KENNER - A Kenner man on parole with a long history of obscenity arrests and convictions has been arrested again.  Ricky Scott, 55, who provided the home address of 3040 Marietta Street in Kenner was arrested and charged with the crime of obscenity after an incident at the Wal-Mart, located at 8912 Veterans Boulevard in Kenner.

At approximately 2:10 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010, an off duty Kenner Police officer working a security detail at the Wal-Mart was approached by a complainant who wished to remain anonymous.  The complainant informed the officer that it appeared that Scott was in the electronic section of the store masturbating while watching a young boy.  The Kenner Police Officer including Wal-Mart Security located Scott and detained him.  After reviewing the surveillance video in the store, it was confirmed that Scott was in fact masturbating while watching a boy who appeared to be between the ages of 9 and 13 in the electronic section.  Scott was arrested and charged with the crime of obscenity.

At the time of this press release, Scott remains in the custody of the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna.  Bond has not been set.  Scott was also booked with a detainer for parole violations.  Scott was on parole at the time of his arrest for the crime of obscenity until 12-23-2010.

Chief Steve Caraway urges anyone with information concerning this incident, to call the Kenner Police Department at (504) 712-2222 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.

Officer Nicholas Patterson is the investigating officer.
