Shortly after releasing the photograph of the suspect vehicle to local news media, detectives received a telephone call from the vehicle’s owner.  It was learned that, August 11, 2010, the owner was carjacked in the 3400 block of Pine Street, in New Orleans.  The vehicle was then used in the August 13, 2010, murder in Kenner.   The owner further advised that on Monday, August 27, 2010, he was contacted by NOPD and advised the vehicle was involved in a hit a run accident that occurred at Girod and Loyola Drive in New Orleans.    The owner recovered his vehicle from Girod and Loyola Drive and had it towed to a repair shop.
