Sex offender arrested for
possessing and distributing child pornography
KENNER - On Friday,
January 8, 2010, members of the Kenner Police Department,
assisted by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, executed a
search warrant at the residence of Luis Eduardo Handal, 29, who
resides at 3019 Emory Street,
apartment C,
Kenner.
During an investigation it was
learned that Handal possessed and was distributing child
pornography.
At the time of the search warrant
and conducting a preview of Handal’s computer, multiple images
of child pornography were found to have been downloaded to
Handal’s computer.
The Kenner Police Department will
conduct a further forensic exam of Handal’s computer to
determine how many images and videos were stored on his
computer.
In an interview with Detective Brian
McGregor and Officer Edward Rhode, Handal admitted to
possessing, viewing, downloading and distributing child
pornography because he has low self esteem.
Handal was charged with possession
and distribution of child pornography.
At the time of this press release,
Handal remains in custody. No bond has been set.
According to the Louisiana State Police Sex
Offender Registry website, Handal has been convicted of the
crimes of carnal knowledge of a juvenile (2-counts), Sodomy with
a child under 16 years old (2-counts), Indecent acts / Liberties
with a child and possession of child pornography.

regarding anyone exploiting children, illegally possessing or
selling child pornography, or online enticement of children for
