Kenner
woman arrested for fourth DWI offense
KENNER
- A
Kenner
woman identified as Gloria Manso, 34, who provided the home
address of 3745
West Loyola Drive,
Kenner,
has been arrested for her 4th
driving while intoxicated offense.
On Tuesday,
January 26, 2010, at 4:00 p.m., Kenner Police responded to a hit
and run crash in the 100 block of
West Esplanade Avenue.
Manso who was driving a 2000 Ford
Explorer crashed into another vehicle and fled the scene.
Manso was located by Kenner Police
moments later exiting the Ford Explorer at her residence.
Manso had a strong odor of an
alcoholic beverage about her breath, glossy and blood shot eyes,
slurred speech, and had mild difficulty in maintaining her
balance.
Manso performed poorly on a standard
field sobriety test and was arrested.
She later refused to submit to
chemical testing for intoxication, acknowledging the fact that
she was on parole for her third offense.
Manso was on parole
for her 3rd
DWI offense until November 12, 2013.
Manso had pled guilty to the third
offense on August 10, 2007 and was sentenced to five years,
which was suspended.
She was placed on active probation
for 4 years and 6 months.
Manso, who was also sentenced to
home incarceration, violated the terms and was sentenced again
on March 30, 2009 to the five year term.
It should be noted that in each of
Manso’s arrests for driving while intoxicated she was involved
in a hit & run or traffic crash.
Manso was charged with the crimes of
operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated 4th
offense (felony), operating a vehicle under suspension, hit &
run and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
At the time of this press release,
Manso remains in the custody of the
Jefferson
Parish
Correctional
Center.
In addition to the above arrest, the
Department of Probation and Parole has arrested Manso for parole
violations.
