KENNER
POLICE INVESTIGATING HOMICIDE
KENNER - On Thursday,
January 21, 2010, at approximately 8:13 A.M., Kenner Police
officers responded to shots fired at
1013 31st St,
Kenner, Louisiana. Upon
arrival, witnesses directed officers to a black female victim
lying in a vehicle in the parking lot. Witnesses informed the
officers that a black male had fled the location in a red Dodge
Durango
west on
30th Street.
Responding officers spotted the
Durango
traveling on Loyola
Dr.
and entering onto I-10 westbound.
Officers pursed the
Durango
onto the interstate. Kenner Police Officers along with units
from the Louisiana State Police, Troop B and the St. John Parish
Sherriff’s Office pursued the vehicle west on I-10. The suspect
pulled his vehicle over after crossing the 3 mile bridge in St.
John Parish where he surrendered to officers without incident.
The Victim is identified as Lanell Darden,
age 29, currently of 1013 31st Street,
Kenner,
La.
The Suspect is identified as Readus
Williams, age 49, currently of Orlando, Fl.
The victim had returned to
Kenner in November 2009 after breaking off a
relationship with the suspect while in Florida.
