Murder Victim Identified / Suspect Arrested

 

KENNER - A man found murdered earlier this morning in the 3500 block of Martinique Avenue, has been identified as Terry Lewis, 25 of New Orleans.  At approximately 12:54 a.m., Kenner Police responded to a call in reference to a shooting in the 3500 block of Martinique Avenue, in Kenner.  Officers discovered Lewis’ body lying on the ground with multiple gunshots wounds.  Lewis was pronounced dead on scene.    

Within minutes of the murder, Kenner Police Officers learned that Lewis had been involved in a verbal altercation with a male subject name Brandon Earls, 23, who provided the home address of 3633 Martinique Avenue, Kenner.  Earls was located in an apartment at the location, cleaning himself with bleach.  Earls was interviewed by Kenner detectives and confessed that he shot the victim.  His motive was an ongoing dispute that he had with the victim over a female acquaintance.   

Earls was charged with the crime of second degree murder.
