Elderly Female Perishes in Home Fire

KENNEROn September 29, 2009, at approximately 4:35 pm, Kenner Police Officers responded to a residential fire at 1118 Roosevelt Boulevard. Officers arrived on scene to find the home engulfed in flames and the doors and windows to the residence were secured. Kenner Fire Department extinguished the fire and officers made entry into the home. Sue Robichaux, age 70, was found inside the home unresponsive. Preliminary findings do not suggest any type of foul play.

Jefferson Parish Arson Investigators and State Fire Marshalls were called to the scene to assist in the investigation.

An autopsy will be performed at the Jefferson Parish Forensic Center in Harvey, Louisiana, to determine an exact cause of death.

Detective Joseph McRae is in charge of the investigation.
