Arrest Church
Burglar
Kenner
- On Friday, May 1, 2009, the Kenner Police Department responded
to a burglary of a religious building at Nativity of Our Lord
Church, located at 3325 Loyola Drive in Kenner. As police
officers / detectives responded to the area, they captured
Robert Ledoux, 38, of 1826 Hillary Street in New Orleans,
Louisiana after he fled the church. Ledoux was detained at the
corner of West Louisiana State and Loyola Drive, where he was
identified by witnesses as the perpetrator. Witnesses told
police they saw Ledoux jump an exterior fence to Nativity of Our
Lord Church then force a side door open and enter the church.
Ledoux was confronted by the church staff near the “poor box”
located within the church. Ledoux was arrested and charged with
the crimes of simple burglary of a religious building and
criminal trespassing.
Due to several recent
church burglaries that have occurred in Kenner, specifically at

Street (Kenner), Nativity of Our Lord Church, located at 3325
Loyola Drive (Kenner), and St. Jerome Church, located at 2402 33rd
Street (Kenner), in which the churches were burglarized, the “poor

to other church burglaries.
