CHIEF STEPHEN CARAWAY WARNS OF PHONE SCAM

citizens to be aware of a recent phone solicitation scam the
Kenner Police Department has been made aware of.
Kenner citizens
that have been contacted, advise they all received a
pre-recorded message advising them to contact the Jefferson
Federal Institution at 1-888-443-6665 in reference to
unusual activity on their financial accounts. These calls have
been received by a number of citizens living throughout the
city. When the number is called it begins by requesting all
types of personal info. (Debit card account number, social
security number).
As
always, in situations such as this, Chief Caraway wants to
remind everyone to never provide personal or financial
information to anyone over the telephone or internet unless you
know for certain whom you are dealing with.
