KENNER POLICE INVESTIGATING TWO SEPARATE FATALITY

ACCIDENTS INVOLVING PEDESTRIANS ON AIRLINE HWY

Kenner - The Kenner Police Department is investigating two separate fatality accidents involving pedestrians that occurred on Airline Hwy in Kenner.

On December 31, 2008 at approximately 10:17 P.M. the victim was walking east on the shoulder on the roadway at 23 E Airline Hwy, when he entered into the roadway and was struck by a pick-up truck. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The victims name is being withheld pending notification of relatives. No charges have been filed against the driver of the vehicle.

Traffic Investigator P. Gallagher is investigating this incident

On January 1, 2009 at approximately 2:34 A.M. the victim was walking east on the shoulder on the roadway at 181 W Airline Hwy, when she entered into the roadway and was struck by a SUV. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of relatives. No charges have been file against the driver of the vehicle.
