Kenner Police Investigate Homicide

Kenner - On Thursday, September 18, 2008, at approximately 3:36 P.M., Kenner Police officers responded to shots fired outside Pelican Ice located at 711 Oxley St, Kenner, Louisiana. Upon arrival, officers found one victim, who is being identified as Damien Verrett, age 29, of 6301 Riverside Drive, Metairie, Louisiana with numerous gunshot wounds. A preliminary investigation revealed that as Verrett exited the business where he was employed, three black males exited a light colored SUV. The black males armed with unknown type caliber handguns fired at the victim, striking Verrett numerous times. The black males were last seen North on Oxley St, in the SUV. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

No motive has been established at this time.
