Kenner - On Sunday, September 14, 2008, at approximately 0413 hours, Kenner Police officers responded to an attempted armed robbery / shooting outside 2516 Idaho Avenue, Kenner, Louisiana.  Upon arrival, officers found one victim, who is being identified by friends as Miguel Vasquez, 35, of 2516 Idaho Avenue, Kenner, with several gunshots.  A preliminary investigation revealed that two black males rushed Vasquez and a second victim in the rear alleyway of 2516 Idaho Avenue, demanding money.  One of the black males was armed with an unknown caliber handgun.  Both victims attempted to runaway from the robbery, when guns shots were fired striking Vasquez.  Vasquez was transported to University Hospital where his death was later pronounced.
