Armed
robbery arrest
Kenner - On
Thursday, November 20, 2008, Jonnell Horn, 18, who provided the
home address of 341 Clemson Place, Kenner, was arrested and
charged with the crime of armed robbery. At 9:35 p.m.,
Thursday, November 20, 2008, Kenner Police Officers responded to
an armed robbery, which occurred in the parking lot of the
Windsong apartments, located in the 1300 block of West Esplanade
Avenue, in Kenner. Upon speaking to the victim, it was learned
she had just arrived home and was in the parking lot when a male
subject grabbed her from behind, placed a gun to her head and
demanded her purse. After taking the victim’s purse and as
officers were responding to the location, Officer Mike Jackson
observed Horn on a bicycle exiting the apartment complex. Horn
attempted to flee and was captured in the 1600 of 34th
Street, in Kenner. Horn was positively identified as the
perpetrator of the armed robbery. A Taurus .38 caliber handgun
was recovered. At the present time Horn is in the custody of
the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna. No
bond has been set.
