Kenner man arrested for multiple burglaries

KENNER - Michael Walker, age 38, of 1018 Compromise Street, Kenner, has been arrested and charged with a total of 14 burglaries.  Detectives were able to link Walker to the burglaries through M.O. (method of operation), stolen property he pawned, interior video surveillance, and physical evidence recovered from his residence during the execution of a search warrant.  The 14 burglaries were broken down as follows:

10 – Residential burglaries

3 – Business burglaries

1 – Vehicle burglary

Walker is accused of going through residential windows that were either secured or unsecured and removing jewelry or electronics.  In the business burglaries, Walker gained entry through the roof or windows he kicked open.

The residential burglaries and vehicle burglary occurred in the Morningside Park Subdivision, which is where he lived.  Walker was convicted of simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling back in 1999.

If convicted, Walker faces a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison on each count.

Detectives Herbert Hille and Charlotte Synigal are in charge of the investigations.  Chief Steve Caraway encourages anyone with information on this incident to contact the Kenner Police Department at (504) 712-2222 or Crimestoppers at (504) 821-1111. Callers may remain anonymous.
