Students to complete D.A.R.E. program at seven local schools

KENNER—Kenner Police Department D.A.R.E. Officers Ronnie Barger and Byron Corley will hold D.A.R.E. culminations, or graduation ceremonies, May 9 through May 20 at local elementary schools where students have completed the 17-week Drug Abuse Resistance Education  (D.A.R.E.) program.  The D.A.R.E. program educates students about the dangers of drugs and alcohol and teaches them conflict resolution.  The program also teaches kids how to build self-esteem, resist peer pressure, and lead healthy drug-free lives.
