Significant Heroin Seizure
and Arrests
Kenner-On
03/13/2008 at approximately 3:39 P.M., members of the Kenner
Police Department Narcotics Division were investigating a call
of the strong smell of marijuana emanating from a room at the
Motel 6, located at 2830 Loyola Drive, Kenner.
Narcotics Officers, upon approaching the location, observed two
subjects leaving the motel and enter a 2008 Mitsubishi Gallant.
Officers stopped the vehicle in the 500 block of I-10. As
officers approached the vehicle, they detected a strong odor of
burnt marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle.
A Kenner
Police K-9 was dispatched to the location and alerted on the
dashboard of the vehicle. Officers located 7.1 grams of
marijuana hidden behind the radio.
Narcotics Officers obtained consent to search a room at the
Motel 6 from the driver of the vehicle. The passenger was
staying at the Motel 6 in a separate room. Officers located a
third subject in that room and obtained consent to search from
him.
The
search of the two rooms yielded 8.3 grams of heroin, 2/10 grams
of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

was charged with:
Possession with the intent to distribute 8.3 grams of heroin,
Illegal possession of 8.3 grams of heroin, Illegal possession of
2/10 grams of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jessie Reed, B/M, 01/24/1983, of 633 Nel Court, Apt B,
Gretna, LA.
was charged with:
Possession with the intent to distribute 8.3 grams of heroin,
Illegal possession of 8.3 grams of heroin, Illegal possession of
2/10 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia,
Illegal possession of 7.1 grams of marijuana, No seat belt, and
resisting an officer
Henry
Coleman, B/M, 04/30/1977, of 212 Montigue Street, Gretna,
LA.
was charged with:
Illegal
possession of 7.1 grams of marijuana
