Police arrest two subjects in early morning bank robbery
Kenner-The Kenner
Police Department is presently investigating a bank robbery that
occurred at the Hancock Bank located at 4041 Williams Blvd.,
Kenner.
At approximately 10:13
a.m., (2) two black males entered the bank and (1) one subject
produced a handgun demanding money. A customer in the drive-up
window of the bank alerted the police to the robbery. The
subjects fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and
jumped into a dark colored SUV. The customer followed behind at
a safe distance, keeping police alerted to the direction of the
SUV.
The driver of the SUV ran
the stop sign at W. Esplanade and California Ave., striking a
Taxi Cab and a light pole disabling the SUV. The subjects fled
from the SUV. Officers alerted to the location of the vehicle
were in the area within moments.
Timothy Timmons, B/M,
age 27, of 3217 Colorado Ave, Kenner, Louisiana,
was captured as he was
running in the 3400 blk. of Colorado Ave.
Andrew Horne, Jr. age 23,
of 1949 Jasper Lane, Laplace, Louisiana, was found hiding in a
shed in the 3400 blk. of California Ave. Both subjects were
taken into custody without incident.
Officers recovered the
money taken in the robbery along with a 9mm semi-automatic
pistol.
No injuries were reported
in the case.
