Warrant issued for Attempted First Degree Murder of an officer

Kenner -On November 10, 2007 Kenner Police Officers observed Steven D. Tobais, the driver of a 1999 Dodge Intrepid, involved in a hand-to-hand drug transaction in the 300 block of Taylor Street, Kenner.

When officers approached the subjects, Steven Tobais attempted to flee the scene in his vehicle. Verbal commands were given to Steven Tobais to stop the vehicle. While attempting to flee, Steven Tobais’ only avenue of escape was in the path of officers. The vehicle continued toward the officers, one officer fired his weapon, striking the front side tire of the vehicle. The vehicle fled the scene and was discovered in Jefferson Parish.

A warrant has been issued for Steven D. Tobais, B/M, 09/01/1981, 5’3”, 250 lbs, Black Hair, Brown Eyes, LKA 1009 S. Bengal Road Metairie, LA. for Attempted First Degree Murder of A police officer.

Steven Tobais has previous arrests for Possession of Narcotics, Battery of a police officer, and Resisting an officer.
