Subject Arrested After Discharging
Weapon
KENNER – On
February 16, 2007, at 10:45 a.m., Kenner police officers
responded to a complaint of gunshots fired at 935 24th
Street.
Responding officers were
informed by witnesses that a W/M at location had fired
approximately eight shots while standing on his porch. The
subject barricaded himself inside the residence and refused to
communicate with officers.
The
Kenner Police SWAT team was sent to the scene and after a brief
standoff. The subject exited the residence and was taking
into custody.
The
subject, Kenneth Roberts, W/M, 48, is being charged with Illegal
Discharge of a Firearm and Disturbing the Peace at this time.
There
were no injuries from the incident.
Officer Grant Gremillion is
in charge of this investigation.
