Drug Arrest

KENNER – On February 24, 2008, at approximately 10:12 P.M., Kenner Police officers were dispatched to a vehicle fire at the Discount Zone, located at 2845 Loyola Drive, Kenner.

The responding officers observed smoke and flames coming from the engine compartment of a 2007 Dodge Caliber. Officers discovered loose marijuana under the vehicle, along with a trail of marijuana leading from the gas pumps where the vehicle was originally located. Officers located additional marijuana inside the engine compartment.

Three male suspects were at the scene, along with five juveniles ranging from ages four through ten years of age.

The suspects had placed the marijuana inside the engine to transport it and the heat from the engine ignited it. The suspects were attempting to douse the flames and recover the marijuana that had fallen when officers arrived on the scene.

The marijuana weighted 838.7 grams or 1.8 pounds.

Arrested were:

Lenson J. Comier B/M 07/28/1978 2335 St. Anthony St, New Orleans

Santana Woolens B/M 02/10/1975 2335 St. Anthony St, New Orleans

All three individuals were charged with:

Intent to distribute a Schedule 1, Controlled Dangerous Substance

Illegal Possession of a Schedule 1, Controlled Dangerous Substance

Five Counts of Illegal use of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in the Presence of Persons Under Seventeen Years of Age.
