Kenner man on home incarceration arrested again for narcotics violations

Kenner-On Tuesday, April 22, 2008, members of the Kenner Police Department Narcotics Division executed a search warrant at 2651 Tifton Street, Kenner.  As a result of the search warrant, approximately 13.8 grams of powder cocaine (15 individual bags), 12.5 grams of crack cocaine, 5.0 grams of marijuana (4 individual bags), drug paraphernalia (2-digital scales), and $1,100.00 were seized.  At the time detectives executed the search warrant at the above location, detectives located Michael Wright, 37, of 2651 Tifton Street, Kenner, in his bedroom sitting on a bed utilizing a digital scale to weigh crack cocaine.  Wright was arrested and charged with the crimes of illegal possession with the intent to distribute (powder) cocaine, illegal possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine, illegal possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia.

At the time of arrest Wright was awaiting trial and on home incarceration due to a previous narcotics arrest.  On November 30, 2007, Wright was arrested by members of the Kenner Police Department Narcotics Division.  Wright who was stopped for a traffic violation in the 2100 block of Veterans Boulevard, Kenner was found to have an outstanding warrant from St. Charles Parish.  While conducting the investigatory stop, a Kenner Police K-9 alerted on Wright’s vehicle.  A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed that Wright was in possession of 39.5 grams of crack cocaine (36 individual wrapped rocks), 1.6 grams of powder cocaine, and 3.1 grams of marijuana. 

Wright has two prior convictions; one for possession of cocaine and the second for possession of marijuana. 

Detective Chad Petersen is in charge of both investigations.
