Receiving and keeping
Neighborhood Watch signs for your area
In order to receive your signs, it is
necessary to have representation from at least 50% of the homes
in your Neighborhood Watch group at each meeting. It is
not necessary that the same homes be represented each time a
meeting is held, only that you have at least 50% of the homes in
your area.
Your Neighborhood Watch signs will be
posted approximately 2-4 weeks after we receive the sign-in
sheet from your second meeting. The second meeting may be
held any time up to a year after the first meeting. The
location of the signs will be determined by a Community
Relations Officer.
In order to keep the signs, your
Neighborhood Watch group must hold at least two meetings per
year. These may be formal or informal just as long as they
offer neighbors a chance to stay informed and get acquainted.
Participation in the National Night Out Against Crime, as well
as various other types of block parties or social functions will
also count towards your two meetings.
We also suggest that your group walk the
neighborhood to check street lighting. If you encounter
any malfunctioning lighting, please report it to us immediately.
To receive credit for a meeting, be sure
to keep attendance and mail your sign-in sheets to the Community
Relations Division at:
| Kenner Police Department
c/o: |
| Neighborhood Watch Program
Coordinator |
| 500 Veterans Blvd. |
| Kenner, LA 70062 |
You may also e-mail attendance to
the Community Relations Division at
nguggenheim@kennerpd.com.
Doing this ensures that your signs will not be removed.
Please remember that Neighborhood
Watch groups that do not meet the minimum criteria of at least
two meetings per year will have their signs removed.
