Captain Glenn Synigal
began his career with the Kenner Police Department in 1980 and
was assigned to the Airport Division. He was then assigned to
the New Orleans Police Department, where he served in an
undercover capacity for approximately two years.
Captain Synigal
graduated from the Louisiana State University P.O.S.T. Academy
in 1983, and in the same year, was assigned to the Kenner Police
Department’s newly formed Narcotics Section. He served in
this capacity until 1986, and was assigned to the Patrol
Division until 1991, when he was re-assigned to the Narcotics
Section. As a detective, Captain Synigal worked with numerous local, state,
and federal agencies.
In 1995, he was
promoted to Sergeant, and in 1996, he was assigned as Commander
of the Narcotics Section, where he remained until January 2003.
During that tenure, Captain Synigal received the Officer of the
Month award and was honored by the American Legion as Police
Officer of the Year. He is also a 2001 graduate of the FBI
National Academy.
In January 2003, he
was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and assumed the duties of
Squad 4 Commander in the Patrol Division. In March of the
same year, Captain Synigal was awarded the American Legion’s Lawman of
the Year award for the State of Louisiana, District 2.
In 2006, he was
promoted to the rank of Captain and assumed the duties of
Commander of Field Services, which encompasses the Patrol and
Traffic Divisions, and Police Reserves.
